If you have spare bread pieces and too lazy to make elaborate breakfast , we would highly recommend Bread Upma.This is an easy breakfast to make on those lazy Saturday and Sunday mornings.

- Bread-4 slices shredded into small pieces
- Onion-1 chopped fine
- Green chilli-2 slit
- Chana dal-1 tbsp
- Mustard seed-1 tbsp
- Curry leaves-few
- Cumin/jeera-1/2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder-a pinch
- Hing-a pinch
- Cilantro-few
- Salt to taste
The preparation method:
- Heat some oil in a wide pan and splutter mustard seeds and crack jeera seeds.
- Add the chana dal and fry till they turn slightly brown.
- Add the curry leaves, green chilli , hing , turmeric powder and fry them for a minute.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté them with salt till they turn golden brown.
- Finally, add the shredded bread pieces and mix well.Fry till the bread pieces turn slightly brown.Garnish with cilantro leaves.
- Easy and quick Bread Upma is ready for breakfast!
