Gobi Manchurian

Gobi/Cauliflower Manchurian is a popular fast food snack and is a common starter in restaurants.


What you need for Gobi/cauliflower manchurian:
  • Cauliflower-10 pieces
  • Capsicum-1/2 chopped 
  • Onion-1 chopped fine
  • Green chilli-2 slit
  • Soya sauce-2 tbsp
  • Chilli tomato sauce-2 tbsp
  • Corn flour-2 tbsp
  • Plain flour/maida-2 tbsp
  • Vinegar-1 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste-1/2 tbsp
  • Pepper powder-1/2 tbsp
  • ginger-1 piece
  • Garlic-1 pod
  • Salt to taste
The preparation method:
  • Put the cauliflower florets in hot water for about 5 minutes and drain. 
  • Make a paste of corn flour,maida and salt by adding a little water.
  • Heat oil for deep frying in a heavy bottomed vessel. Dip each gobi floret in the paste such that it is well coated and drop into the hot oil. Fry in medium flame till the florets turns golden brown.Remove onto absorbent paper and keep aside.
  • Next, heat some more oil in the same pan, add the chopped garlic and stir fry for a few seconds. Add green chillis and ginger and then add onions. Stir fry .Add the sliced capsicum and stir fry for another 3-4 mts.
  • Next add the chilli tomato sauce and soya sauce.Cook for about 2 mts.
  • Add pepper powder and salt to taste.
  • Lastly,add the deep fried gobhi and toss on high flame for 1-2 mts. Turn off heat.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Yummy and tasty Gobi Manchurian is ready to served hot!
