What you need for Mutton Kheema:
- Minced lamb- 1/2 kg
- Onion- 2 finely chopped
- Tomatoes- 2 finely chopped
- Green chilies- 2 slit
- Grated ginger- 1 piece
- Crushed Garlic- 3 pods
- Red chili powder- 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder- 1 tsp
- Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala powder- 3/4 tsp
- Cinnamon- 1 piece
- Bay leaves- 1
- Cloves- 2
- Green cardamoms- 2
- Chopped cilantro (coriander) leaves
- Salt to taste
The preparation method:
- Heat the oil in a pan and fry the cinnamon, cardamoms and cloves for a minute
- Add the onions and fry until golden brown.
- Add ginger- garlic and green chillies and fry for couple of minutes.
- Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder,coriander powder and half of the garam masala powder and stir-fry for 5 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes and salt. Mix well. When the moisture in the tomato is fully absorbed, then stir-fry for 2 minutes
- Add meat and sauté for 5 minutes.
- Add 2 cups of water and cook until the meat is tender.
- Add the remaining garam masala powder and stir fry for 5 more minutes.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Mutton Kheema is ready to served hot with roti or rice, it goes well with a curd salad
