Badusha/Balushahi

Badusha /Balushahi is a deliciously flaky and layered Indian Sweet traditionally made during Diwali.It has a layered texture and is coated with sugar syrup.Pretty easy to make and tastes great

What you need for Badusha:
  • Maida/Plain flour - 1 cup
  • Baking powder - 1 tbsp
  • Cooking soda - a pinch
  • Sugar -1/2 cup
  • Curd -3 tbsp
  • Cardamom - 4
  • Ghee -1 tbsp
  • Lemon juice -1/2 tbsp
The Preparation method:
  • Mix maida ,baking powder,cooking soda,ghee and curd together.Make a soft dough out of it.Don't add any water. Cover it and keep it aside for 20 minutes.
  • Then make lemon size ball out of it.press with your thumb on the ball
  • Heat oil and fry these balls on medium low heat until balls golden brown then remove /drain the oil
  • prepare sugar syrup to consistency of string. Add cardamom powder and lemon juice  to it. Keep aside.
  • Now add the fried badusha in to the sugar syrup
  • Yummy badusha is ready to be served.
