Soya Chunk Kurma

Soya is very rich in protein. This is a simple kurma which goes great with rotis.

What you need for Soya chunk kurma:
  • Green peas - 1/2 cup
  • Soyachunks - 1/2 cup
  • Onion - 1 chopped
  • Tomato -1 chopped
  • Bayleaves - 1
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves -few`
  • Peppercorns - 2 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tbsp
  • Fennel seeds -1 tbsp
  • Grated coconut -1/2 cup
  • Cinnamon stick  - 2 piece
  • Cloves - 4
  • Coriander seeds - 3 tbsp
  • Red chilli - 3
  • Salt to taste
The Preparation method:
  • Cook the soya chunks in salted hot water until they double their volume, drain and squeeze out the excess of water.
  • Grind pepper corns,cinnamon,cloves,cumin,fennel,red chilli,coriander seeds and coconut as fine paste and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add the bay leaves and fry until they turns brown, add chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, ginger garlic paste and saute everything well until the raw smells goes .Add now the  frozen green peas and add the grounded paste to the pan. Cook everything  for few minutes with lid closed.Finally add the cooked soya chunks and enough water to the pan and cook for another few minutes..turn off the heat and add the coriander leaves..
  • Tasty soya chunk kurma is ready to serve with roti.
