Kovakkai Poriyal

Kovakkai/Tindora poriyal is a popular side-dish for rice.It is rich in Vitamin B and even recommended for diabetes patients.


What you need for Kovakkai poriyal:
  • Kovakkai-1/2 kg chopped
  • Small onion or onion-12 pieces chopped
  • Green chilli-2
  • Mustard seeds-1/2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves- few
  • Salt to taste
The preparation method:
  • Heat some oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add chopped onion,green chilli and curry leaves.
  • Saute for some time and then add kovakka/tindora and salt.
  • Add littile water and cook till the kovakkas' are well done.
  • Kovakka poriyal is ready to be served hot as a side dish for rice.
