Sweet Potato Puzhukku is a traditional, tasty recipe of Palakkad.The combination of sweet potato and chilli is very tasty and goes well with rice or kanji.

- Sweet potato -2 peeled and cubed
- Coconut grated -1/2 shell
- Green chilli -2
- Cumin-1/2 tbsp
- Shallots -2
- Garlic -2 (optional)
- Turmeric powder - a pinch
- Curry leaves -few
- Red chilli -1
- Mustard seed -1/2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Boil the sweet potato with salt and turmeric powder.
- Grind coconut with cumin,green chilli,shallots and garlic. Garlic is optional ,if u doesnt like the smell then no need to add.
- When the sweet potato is cooked add the grinded mixture in to it.
- Mix well .cook for few minutes.then switch off the flame.
- Heat oil in a pan. Splutter mustard seed,fry red chilli and curry leaves.
- Pour the seasoning in to the curry.
- Tasty sweet potato puzhukku is ready to have with rice/kanji.
