Spring Onion chicken

Chicken with spring onions is a common Chinese dish found in many restaurants today. It is very easy to make and you can either serve it hot or cold.

What you need for Spring Onion Chicken:
  • Chicken-1/2 kg
  • Spring onion-1 bunch
  • Cumin seeds-1 tbsp
  • Dessicated coconut-1 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder-1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder-a pinch
  • Ginger garlic paste-1 tbsp
  • Chilli powder-1 1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder-1 1/2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice : 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
Preparation Method:
  • Chop the green leaves of the spring onion very finely. Grind or chop finely the bulb parts.
  • In a pan add oil, cumin seeds, coconut powder, onion paste mix well then add ginger-garlic paste,salt, mix well and cook till light golden brown colour.
  • Add turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder. 
  • then add chicken and mix well. 
  • Finally add chopped spring onion leaves , close it with a lid and cook till the chicken is tender.
  • Once chicken is done, add chopped coriander, garam masala powder and lemon juice and serve with rice or roti.
