Fried Yam / Chena Varuthathu

Chena or Yam fry is a spicy,crunchy snack which prepared very quick and served with any rice dish.


What you need for Yam Fry:
  • Yam/chena - 1 cup (cut in to slices)
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 tbsp
  • Chilli powder- 1tbsp
  • Garam masala powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
The preparation method:
  • Marinate all the ingredients together for a few minutes.
  • Heat a tawa  and place the yam slices on it. Pour little oil over the yam pieces and fry it on both sides.
  • Simple and tasty yam fry is ready to be served with rice.
