Spinach Dal or Cheera Parippu is a very healthy curry as spinach is rich in iron and dal is rich in protein.

- Spinach/cheera-2 cup chopped
- Parippu/Toor daal-1 cup
- Coconut-1/2 cut into small pieces
- Red chilli-2
- Pepper-1 tbsp
- Small onion-4
- Garlic -2 pods
- Cumin-1/2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder - a pinch
The preparation method:
- Pressure cook toor dal with turmeric powder,and salt.Keep it aside.
- Grind the coconut with pepper,small onion,red chilli,garlic and cumin.Add a little water if necessary.
- Add this grinded mixture to the cooked toor dal in the pressure cooker.Boil for a while.
- Add chopped spinach/cheera and remove when you see bubbles coming up.
- For seasoning, heat some oil in a pan and saute the chopped small onion.
- Add this seasoning to the spinach dal curry.
- Healthy and Yummy Spinach Dal / Cheera Parippu curry is ready to be served hot with rice.
