Vazhakka Fry

Vazhakka/raw banana fry is a popular poriyal in South Indian lunch menu. It is also very easy to cook.


What You need for Vazhakka fry:
  • Raw banana-1 - cut into thin circular pieces
  • Coriander powder-1tbsp
  • Chilli powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder-a pinch
  • Salt to taste
The preparation method:
  • Make a paste of with red chilli,coriander,turmeric powders and salt by adding a little water.
  • Marinate the vazhakka/raw banana slices with this paste.Ensure the pieces are well coated.
  • Keep it aside for 15 minutes.
  • Heat some oil in a pan and fry the marinated vazhakka/raw banana pieces till they are cooked(shouldn't take much time if the pieces are thin).
  • Hot and Spicy vazhakka poriyal is ready to be served along side sambhar rice.
