Vazhakka/raw banana fry is a popular poriyal in South Indian lunch menu. It is also very easy to cook.

- Raw banana-1 - cut into thin circular pieces
- Coriander powder-1tbsp
- Chilli powder-1/2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder-a pinch
- Salt to taste
The preparation method:
- Make a paste of with red chilli,coriander,turmeric powders and salt by adding a little water.
- Marinate the vazhakka/raw banana slices with this paste.Ensure the pieces are well coated.
- Keep it aside for 15 minutes.
- Heat some oil in a pan and fry the marinated vazhakka/raw banana pieces till they are cooked(shouldn't take much time if the pieces are thin).
- Hot and Spicy vazhakka poriyal is ready to be served along side sambhar rice.
