Vegetable Fried Rice is easy to prepare and tastes great as a meal on its own.It is the vegetarian equivalent of the popular egg or chicken fried rice.
What you need for vegetable fried rice:
- Rice-2 cup
- Carrot-1
- Peas-1 cup
- Corn-1 cup
- Spring onion-5
- Capsicum-1
- Beans-12
- Ginger-1 piece
- Garlic-3 pods
- Pepper powder-1/2 tbsp
- Garam Masala powder - 1 tbsp
- Vinegar-1 tbsp
- Soya sauce-2 tbsp
- Chilli tomato sauce-1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
The preparation method:
- Cook the basmati rice along with little salt and a drop of oil to ensure the grains don't stick to each other.. Set aside to cool down.Make sure the rice is not over-cooked.
- Heat some oil a non-stick pan or wok and fry the chopped ginger and garlic pieces.Ensure the ginger and garlic are finely chopped.Sauté the fine chopped onion till they turn slightly brown.
- Add the chopped carrot,beans,peas,sweet corn and saute them till they are done.
- Add the capsicum and spring onions. Add the garam masala powder,salt and pepper powder and saute till all the masalas are well mixed with the vegetables and the vegetables are well done.
- Add the cooked basmati rice and mix well.
- Pour the soy sauce and vinegar to this and mix well.
- If needed,you can also add little chilli sauce.We added Maggi Hot and Sweet chilli sauce.
- That's it ! Vegetable fried rice is ready for your eating pleasure.
