Soya chunks, the vegetarian meat, combined with the goodness of Methi makes this tasty and healthy masala. This goes great with roti or chapatti.
What you need to make Soya Chunk Methi Masala:
- Soya chunks- 2 cups
- Onion - 1 big chopped fine
- Tomatoes- 2 chopped fine
- Ginger garlic paste -1/2 tbsp
- Butter - 1 tbsp
- Methi leaves - a bunch (washed and leaves separated from stalk)
- Kasoori methi - 1 tbsp
- Turmeric - a pinch
- Red chili powder - 1/2 tbsp
- Garam masala - 1/2 tbsp
- Whipped cream - 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Wash and pressure cook the soya chunks (with water) for one whistle with little salt. Take out the soya chunks, leave it under cold water, wash again and squeeze the water out of them.
- Heat butter in a pan and fry onion paste till golden brown for about 10 min. Then add the ginger garlic paste and fry for 2-3 min.
- Add chopped tomatoes , mix well and cooked till the tomatoes are well done.
- Now add the masalas and cook/fry till the oil leaves the sides.
- Add the fresh methi leaves and mix well.
- Add the soya to the gravy and add enough water to get a thick consistency. Add the kasoori methi and bring it to a boil.
- Remove from heat and add the cream.
- Tasty Soya Methi Masala is ready to be served hot with Roti or Chappati.
