Maida Semolina Dosa with Aloo Dum

Maida Semolina dosa is an instant dosa - more like a Pancake sans the egg & the sweet taste. This goes great with Aloo Dum ( recipe given below)

What you need for Maida Semolina dosa :
  • Maida/All purpose Flour -1 cup
  • Suji/ Semolina -1 cup
  • Milk - 2 cups
  • Onions - 1 finely chopped
  • Carrot - 1 Finely chopped 
  • Coriander leaves -  few finely chopped
  • Green chilies - 2 finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 piece chopped
  • Salt to taste 
The preparation method:
  • Mix together the maida and suji in 1:1 ratio and pour milk to make a batter of dosa like
  • consistency. You can make the batter with ONLY milk or milk & water.
  • Add the chopped onions, grated carrot, finely chopped green chillies, chopped coriander leaves , ginger and salt.
  • Mix well.
  • Heat tawa pour a ladle of batter and spread it in a circle.
  • when one side is done , Flip it over and cook.
  • Your maida semolina dosa  is ready to be served with the Alu Dum.
What you need for Aloo Dum:
  • Potatoes - 5 
  • Onions - 1  quartered
  • Tomatoes - 1 diced
  • Curry leaves - 1 sprig
  • Urad Dal - 1 tbsp
  • Dry red chili - 1
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder -1/2 tbsp
  • Sambhar powder - 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
The preparation method:
  • Boil the potatoes with their skin on. When it done peel the skin off and cut each into 4 quarters.
  • Heat oil in a pan  splutter mustard seeds, urad dal ,dry red chilli  and curry leaves
  • Add  the quartered onion and salt.Saute till it turns translucent.
  • Add the ginger garlic paste and diced tomatoes.Saute till the tomatoes done.
  • Add the boiled and quartered potatoes.
  • Put coriander powder and chili powder and mix well.
  • Now add sambar masala and mix well.
  • Switch off the flame.Aloo dum is ready to serve.
