Small Potato Curry

Baby Potato Curry goes well with any of the Indian breads like Chapati, Nan, Roti or Puri/Poori. We make this great tasting curry when we get bored with the normal potato dish.

What you need for small potato curry:
  • Small potato-10 peeled
  • Onion-1 chopped fine 
  • Ginger-1 piece chopped fine
  • Garlic -2 pods chopped fine
  • Fennel seeds-1/2 tbsp
  • Tomato-1 boiled and puréed
  • Coriander powder-11/2 tbsp
  • Chilli powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Hing-A pinch
  • Salt to taste
The preparation method:

  • Boil the baby potatoes , peel the skin and pierce them with a fork.
  • Heat oil in a kadai, add the fennel seeds and allow it to crackle.Add the tomatoe puree and saute for a while.
  • Add the hing, chillipowder, garam masala powder, salt and saute for a while.
  • Add the water to the gravy and allow it to cook till the gravy becomes thick.
  • Finally add the baby potatoes and cook till the potatoes are well cooked.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Yummy baby potato curry is ready to be served with Indian bread or rice.
