Ulli Vada / Vengaya Bajji / Onion Fritters

Ulli Vada / Vengaya Bajji / Onion Fritters is a popular south Indian snack. This is one of the favoured snack in the roadside Tea shops.We love to eat this on rainy days ;-)


What you need for Ulli vada:
  • Onion-1 chopped fine
  • Green chilli-2 chopped fine
  • Curry leaves-few
  • Ginger-1 piece chopped fine
  • Hing-a pinch
  • Besan / Kadala maavu -1 cup
  • Cilantro-few
  • Salt to taste
The preparation method:
  • Mix besan/kadala maavu  with onion,green chilli,ginger,curry leaves,salt,hing and coriander leaves.Add little water and make a batter.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Take the mixture in a small ball size and flatten it into a round shape.
  • Deep fry this till golden brown.
  • Hot ulli vada is ready to savoured (especially on a rainy evening) !.
