Idli Upma

What do you do if you have Idlis leftovers from yesterday? Try this simple Idli Upma ( Even leftover Idlis tastes great ;-) )
What you need for Idli Upma:
  • Idly- 4 scrambled
  • Onion - 1 chopped fine
  • Mustard seed- 1 tbsp
  • Channa dhal- 1 tbsp
  • Red chillies - 2 or 3 broken
  • Curry leaves- 1 sprig
  • Pepper powder - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder-1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

The preparation method:
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seed. Once it splutters , add channa dal,broken red chillies , curry leaves and saute few mins.
  • Add chopped onion and saute till the onions turn transparent.
  • Add the turmeric powder and pepper powder. Fry for a minute
  • Add the scrambled idly and mix well. Fry till the Idlis turn slightly crisp. 
  • Yummy Idli Upma is ready to be served for breakfast or evening snack.
