Rava Uthappam

A dish similar to Uthappam but made with rava or semolina.Traditionally onions, bell peppers and tomatoes are added to the batter. This is a complete low-fat dish and complete meal.

What you need for Rava Uthappam:
  • Sooji / Rava - 1cup
  • Curd  -  1 cup
  • Tomato - 1 finely diced
  • Onion -  1 finely chopped
  • Green chilli - 2 finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves - few chopped
  • Carrot - 1 grated 
  • Curry leaves - few chopped 
  • Salt to taste
The preparation method:
  • Mix all the ingredients together along with water till you get a thick consistency .The batter will be bit thicker than dosa batter
  • Keep the batter aside for 1/2 hour.
  • Take a ladle full of  batter and spread it to a thick but small dosa (6 inch dia. approximately). 
  • Sprinkle oil if needed .
  • When one side is done, flip it to the other side. Cook for 2-3 seconds and flip it again.
  • Cook on both sides for a few seconds. Serve hot with chutney.
