Pottu Kadalai /Maa ladoo

Maa Ladoo/Maladu is a famous South Indian sweet referred to as Pottu kadalai Urundai and is made during festive/special occasions.Roasted Gram have lots of nutritional benefits. It is low in calories and rich in iron. 

What you need for Pottukadalai ladoo:
  • Roasted Gram /Pottu kadalai - 1 cup
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Ghee - 1/4 cup
  • Cardamom  - 4 powdered
  • Cashew nut - few
Preparation method:
  • Grind the roasted gram / pottu kadalai into a fine powder in a mixer.
  • Powder the sugar also finely.
  • Sieve this powdered dal and sugar .
  • Mix sugar powder and pottu kadalai powder in a mixing bowl along with cardamom powder also.
  • Heat ghee and fry the cashew nuts.Add the ghee and cashew nuts in to the ladoo mixture.
  • Using both the hands, form small-medium sized  smooth and firm balls. Repeat with the rest of the mixture
  • Tasty and nutritious ladoo is ready to be served.
