Pumpkin Erisseri

Pumpkin Eriseri is a popular dish on Kerala Sadhya or Feast menu at the weddings or festivals. This dish is very simple to make and yummy in taste.


What You need For Erisseri:
  • Pumpkin or Squash- 1/2  cut into cubes
  • Coconut - 1/2
  • Cumin - 1/2 tbsp
  • Red chilli - 4
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves -  a few
  • Salt - to taste

    The preparation method:
    • Boil the pumpkin cubes with salt, a pinch of turmeric powder and little water.
    • Grind the coconut with cumin and red chillies.
    • Add this grinded mixture to the cooked pumpkins and boil for some more time.
    • For seasoning or tadka , fry the mustard seeds , red chillies and curry leaves in a little oil and add it to our erisseri.
    • Yummy Erisseri is ready to be served hot with rice.
