Beetroot is very good for the immune system and general blood flow. Beetroot poriyal is wonderful accompaniment for any veg curry and rice.

- Beetroot-4 cut into small pieces
- Onion-1 chopped fine
- Green chilli-2 slit
- Chana dal-2 tbsp
- Mustard seeds-1/2 tbsp
- Curry leaves-few
- Salt to taste
The preparation method:
- Heat oil in a pan.Splutter mustard seeds and fry chana dal.
- Add chopped onion,green chilli and curry leaves. Sauté till onions turn translucent.
- Add the chopped beetroot and salt.Add little water and allow it to boil.
- Switch off the gas once the beetroots are well done.
- Beetroot poriyal is ready to be serve with rice!
