Chicken curry in Coconut milk

What is kerala cuisine without coconut??? Presenting a chicken curry made the Malayali way:
What you need for Chicken curry in Coconut milk:
  • Chicken -1/2 kg
  • Onion-3
  • Tomato-2
  • Green chilli- 2 slit
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder-2 tbsp
  • Chilli powder-1 tbsp
  • Pepper powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Garam masala-powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste-1 tbsp
  • Coconut milk-1 cup
  • Small onion-5
  • Curry leaves-few
  • Coriander leaves-few
  • Salt to taste
The preparation method:
  • Marinate the chicken with turmeric powder,chilli powder and salt.Keep it for an hour.
  • Heat oil in a pan and saute ginger-garlic paste,green chilli,chopped onions with salt.
  • Once the onions turn transparent , add all the powders and mix well.
  • Add the chicken pieces and reduce the flame.Cover the vessel with a lid. The chicken will start to ooze water.If needed,add some more water.
  • Once the chicken is well cooked,add the coconut milk. Mix well and boil it for a minute.
  • Fry the small onions and curry leaves in coconut oil till the onions turn brown. Add this to the curry.Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Tasty Chicken curry in Coconut milk is ready to be served with rice or chapatti.
