Puffed rice balls/Pori Unda is a very popular snack in the Kerala Temple Festivals (Pooram).The recipe on hand is simple yet so tasty. It has only 2 main ingredients.

- Pori / Rice puffs - 1 cup
- Jaggery – 2 pieces
- Cardamom powder –a pinch
- Dry Ginger powder - a pinch (optional)
- Finely chopped coconut – a few pieces (optional)
- Dissolve jaggery in a little water and filter to remove impurities if any. Heat it until it forms one thread consistency.The syrup should not be too watery and too thick.
- Add cardamom powder,dry ginger powder and grated coconut. Mix the syrup well.
- Pour this syrup in to the pori and make balls out of it. Jaggery hardens as it cools off. You should be real quick in forming the balls.
- Tasty pori unda is ready to be served as snack.
