Red Gram Poriyal/Upperi

Red Gram contain high levels of protein and essential part of well-balanced diet.

What You need for Red Gram Upperi:
  • Red Gram-2 cup soaked in water for 2 hours
  • Onion-1 chopped fine
  • Green chilli-2 slit
  • Curry leaves-few
  • Salt to taste
The preparation method:
  • Pressure cook the soaked red gram with salt.
  • Heat oil in a pan.Add the chopped onions,green chilli and curry leaves. Sauté till the onions turn translucent.
  • Add the pressure cooked red gram in to it .Mix well
  • That's it ! Red gram poriyal is ready to served hot as a side-dish with rice.
