Beetroot poriyal

Beetroot is very good for the immune system and general blood flow. Beetroot poriyal is wonderful accompaniment for any veg curry and rice.

What you need for beetroot poriyal:
  • Beetroot-4 cut into small pieces
  • Onion-1 chopped fine
  • Green chilli-2 slit
  • Chana dal-2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds-1/2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves-few
  • Salt to taste
The preparation method:
  • Heat oil in a pan.Splutter mustard seeds and fry chana dal.
  • Add chopped onion,green chilli and curry leaves. Sauté till onions turn translucent.
  • Add the chopped beetroot and salt.Add little water and allow it to boil.
  • Switch off the gas once the beetroots are well done.
  • Beetroot poriyal is ready to be serve with rice!
