Butter chicken

Butter Chicken is a  delicious chicken dish that can be made as hot or as mild as you wish. This rich, mild and buttery classic dish can be traced back to Moghul times.


What you need for Butter chicken:
  • Chicken-1/2 kg cleaned and cut into small pieces
  • Butter-2 tbsp
  • Onion-2 chopped
  • Tomato-2 chopped
  • Ginger garlic paste-1 tbsp
  • Chilli powder-1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder-1 tbsp
  • Kasthuri methi-1/2tbsp
  • Garam masala powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Cream-3tbsp
  • Cumin-1/2 tbsp
  • Cashew-6pieces
  • Green chilli-2
  • Sugar-1 tbsp
  • Tomato ketchup-1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves-few

 The preparation method:
  • Marinate the chicken with coriander powder,chilli powder,ginger garlic paste and salt.After half an hour shallow fry the chicken.
  • In the same oil add cumin seeds ,onion ,ginger garlic paste ,green chilli,tomato,cashew nut ,coriander powder,chilli powder,garam masala,and kasthuri methi.Cook this mixture add little water until it is well done.
  • Grind the mixture in a blender.
  • Heat butter in a pan and add this mixture in to it.Cook for few minutes then add chicken.Cook till the chicken pieces are cooked.
  • Add tomato ketch up and little sugar.
  • Finally add the cream.
  • Yummy butter chicken is ready to eat with chapathi ,naan or paratha.
