Paavakka Pachadi

Paavakka or Bitter Gourd Pachadi is those who don't like the bitterness but like the goodness of Bitter Gourd. Try this for a change.
What you need for Paavakka Pachadi:
  • Bittergourd-2 chopped into thin round slices
  • Coconut-1/2 chopped fine
  • Small onion-10 chopped
  • Green chilli-3 slit
  • Curd-1 cup
  • Mustard seeds-1/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder-pinch
  • Cumin-1/2 tbsp
  • Red chilli-2
  • Salt to taste
 The preparation method:
  • Marinate the bitter gourd with small onion,curd,turmeric powder,green chilli and salt.and keep it aside half an hour.
  • Fry this marinated bitter gourd.in little oil.Keep aside.
  • Grind the coconut with cumin,and green chilli.
  • Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.Add curry leaves and red chilli.Saute for some time.
  • Add the fried bitter gourd and the grinded coconut mixture to this.
  • Finally add curd and mix well.Boil for a minute.
  • Yummy paavakka pachadi is ready to be served with rice.
